In June 2019, during our visit to Josikan International Academy, Weasay Junction, Sinkor, Monrovia Liberia we were introduced to the students of There is Hope Foundation. These were students who have lost either one or both parents within the community.
This foundation was formed by the Senior Pastor of Champions Tabernacle and his wife, who is also the Principal of Josikan. As of the time of our visit there were about 16 children/students in the foundation. These children received free education as long as they are enrolled at Josikan. However, the challenge is that when these children advanced beyond the level of education offered by Josikan, that will be the end of their education because the school or the owners cannot afford to pay for their education outside of Josikan.
This is where Shelter Missions International can and will step in to help those children further their education. As of the time of our visit, Josikan International Academy had up to the 8th grade curriculum.
Our goal is to adopt the following needs for There is Hope Foundation children:
Tuition and school supplies (as of our last visit, which was last school year, tuition was $100 per student not including books, uniforms, and other school supplies)
